Veelgestelde vragen
Do I need planning permission for a covered structure?
Often not, if the structure meets the regulations for permit-free building (e.g. max 50% rear garden coverage, max 3 m height). Always check with your local authority.
Do you supply complete building kits?
Yes, we supply timber packages made to measure including beams, purlins, roof boards and fixings. Building advice included.
What does a timber covered structure cost?
A standard 3×4 m covered structure in Douglas fir costs approximately €800–€1,500 for the timber (excluding roofing membrane and fixings). Hardwood is 30–50% more expensive. Use our configurator for an accurate price indication.
Which timber is best for a veranda?
Douglas fir is the most popular choice: affordable, attractive and strong enough for most structures. For extra longevity the posts and substructure can be specified in hardwood. Avoid untreated spruce for outdoor structures.
