Tenco Tuindecor black (RAL 9005) matt opaque (2.5 litres) is a matt opaque garden stain on an acrylic binder with water as the solvent, for protecting and finishing soft garden timber. The stain is low-odour, UV-resistant, water-repellent and fast-drying: dust-dry after about 2 hours at 18 °C, recoatable after about 16 hours. It is intended for spruce, pine and Douglas fir in and around the garden — fences, screens, pergolas, palisades, sandpits and climbing frames. It is not suitable for hardwood and not for walk-on horizontal surfaces such as decking and terraces. The formula contains at most 40 g/l VOC (EU limit cat. A/e: 130 g/l) and is ready to use. Suitable and unsuitable substrates according to Tenco:

- Suitable: clean, dry, grease-free timber; lightly sand greyed wood
- Not suitable: hardwood (for example bangkirai, azobé, okan)
- Not suitable: walk-on horizontal parts such as decking and terraces
Instructions for use
Application according to the Tenco product data sheet (February 2024):
- Substrate: Timber must be dry, clean and grease-free. Preferably weather new timber outdoors for several months so extractives or mill oil disappear.
- Maintenance: Sand old stain or paint back to bare wood. Lightly sand greyed timber until the wood colour returns.
- Stirring: Stir thoroughly before and during use. Do not thin; the product is ready to use.
- Application: Apply a thin, even coat with a long-hair brush. One to two coats is enough.
- Conditions: Apply between 10 °C and 25 °C at max. 80% RH, not in full sun.
- Tools: Clean brushes immediately with water.
