Douglas is one of the most picked kinds in 2026. People use it for fences, canopies and decks. That is thanks to a fair mix of price and how long it lasts. Hardwood — price range
Tropical hardwood such as Cumaru and Azobe sits 30 to 50 percent higher per metre than Douglas. But it lasts 25 years or longer with no extra coat. That is true even in ground contact. Decking boards — price range
The price per square metre of terrace hangs a lot on the material. Treated pine and Douglas are the most budget-friendly. Hardwood and composite sit in the higher band. They need less care.
