Douglas is one of the most popular types of wood for fences, canopies and decking in 2026 thanks to the favorable price-sustainability ratio. Hardwood - price indication
Tropical hardwood (Cumaru, azobé, Cumaru) is 30–50% higher per meter than Douglas, but without treatment 25 lasts for years or longer - even in ground contact.
