Description

The 120×120 mm Douglas post, 2.50 m, fine-sawn, is meant as a stiffer upright when you build a shelter, cart shed or veranda at a normal head height. The 12×12 cm section carries more than 100×100 mm and looks heavier. At 2.50 m on adjustable piers you usually need little offcut. European Douglas is typically class 3 untreated. Fine-sawn face. • In-ground only with extra below-grade protection — ask for advice
• Allow movement; pre-drill heavy fasteners

Instructions for use

Working notes:

1. Check: Section and length on receipt.
2. Set: Plumb on pier or shoe; keep clear of standing water.
3. Fix: Pre-drill; use outdoor screws or coach screws.
4. Seal: End-grain sealer on cut ends.
5. Finish: Leave to grey or apply breathable Douglas stain/oil.
