Return and exchange for defective or damaged items
Received an item that is defective, damaged on delivery or incorrectly supplied? You may return or exchange it. This is separate from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal - see our Returns page for more information.
Important information
You arrange return transport yourself. Houthandel Jan Sok does not collect defective goods.
You organise suitable transport (e.g. your own vehicle, trailer or a carrier) and any associated costs are your responsibility.
Always contact us first before sending anything back. We will confirm your report, discuss return or exchange, and agree on the practical approach - including whether and under what conditions return transport costs can be reimbursed. Without prior approval, we cannot process a return.
- Report the defect as soon as possible (within 8 days of receipt, in accordance with our terms and conditions)
- Contact us via contact, email or phone before returning any items
- Arrange transport and associated costs yourself
- After approval and receipt, we handle return or exchange in accordance with our returns policy

When will my order be delivered?
Parcel post is usually shipped right away. Truck deliveries are scheduled by agreement. That way you always know when to expect your order.
Can I choose a specific delivery day?
For truck delivery that is usually possible. Call us to share your preference. For parcel post the regular parcel service applies.
What happens if I am not home at delivery?
Our truck drivers deliver to the property boundary or first accessible spot. You do not always need to be home, but please tell us where we can unload safely.
Do you also deliver on Saturdays or in the evening?
We generally deliver on weekdays. Saturday delivery is sometimes possible, but only by agreement and at an extra charge.
What are the delivery costs for Belgium or Germany?
Belgium: standard €175.00 incl. VAT (own truck). Germany: own transport only, €2.00 per km (incl. VAT) from Meppel.

Yes, as long as a trolley is available. On busy days, call us to be sure. Please return the trolley immediately after use.
