The Mohawk planter, black powder-coated steel 50 x 50 x 50 cm is a compact square planter for a patio, balcony, entrance or a focused green accent. The matt black steel gives a clean, modern look and contrasts strongly with ornamental grasses, perennials, herbs and seasonal planting. This Mohawk planter is made from 1.5 mm steel with a black powder coating and is supplied with a base. The theoretical gross volume is approx. 125 litres: enough for compact, well-kept planting, light enough to place in smaller outdoor spaces as well. Set the planter level on a flat, load-bearing surface. Add drainage and a quality substrate before you plant. Choose the position before filling: after drainage, soil and water the planter is hard to move.

Instructions for use

Follow these steps for stable placement and healthy planting.

1. Choose the final location: Decide the position before filling; the planter becomes heavy afterwards.
2. Check load-bearing capacity: Allow for approx. 125 litres of contents plus drainage, water and planting.
3. Place it level: Set the planter flat for even loading.
4. Check drainage: Prevent water from standing in or under the planter for long periods.
5. Add drainage: Use expanded clay pebbles, gravel or lava rock, matched to the plants.
6. Fill with substrate: Choose potting compost or a mix that suits the planting.
7. Plant at the right depth: Fill around the root ball and firm lightly.
8. Water: Water after planting and match the amount to season and plant type.
9. Maintain the coating: Clean with water and a mild cleaner; repair scratches promptly.
